Last night I started a great new book by Dr. Claire Horisk on the ethics of offensive jokes.

Dangerous Jokes: How Racism and Sexism Weaponize Humor eBook : Horisk,  Claire: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

Early on, Horisk makes the following comment:

Not all offensive things are harmful—like bad smells—but we might argue that a person who deliberately causes offense to another person is harming them, at least a little.1
